YAPA TEE-SHIRTS
OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY
Hi my name is Bernarda Pelaez and I'm the designer and creator of YAPA.
We make beautiful 100% baby alpaca knitwear designed in New York & ethically made in Bolivia. Our knits are basic pieces with a fun twist that are meant to last. Inspired by our Bolivian heritage a contemporary lifestyle and crafted by artisan knitters in one of the finest natural fibers in the world we're trying to make clothing in a mindful way one knit at the time.
Our goal is to design fewer pieces made in a better way.....
ETHICALLY & SUSTAINABLY MADE ALPCACA KNITS
Made in Bolivia and sourced locally our knits are and traceable farm to finish. Starting with the wool that comes from a spinning mill which collects their fiber from small alpaca farms in the highlands to the knitters, mostly women, who choose to knit our pieces either at home or in our workshop, benefiting from stable living conditions and fair wages.
We are proud to produce close to the origin of our raw materials.
